Taro GBV Stakeholder Workshop Strengthens Collaboration in Choiseul
The Family Support Centre (FSC) team is excited to host a two-day Gender-Based Violence (GBV) stakeholder workshop in Taro, Choiseul Province. This important gathering brings together key partners and service providers to strengthen the collective response to issues of domestic violence, rape, child abuse, and referral services within the province.
The workshop opened with a dedicated domestic violence session, setting the stage for dialogue and shared learning. This was followed by a comprehensive assessment of FSC services in Taro, allowing stakeholders to reflect on current progress and identify areas where support can be further strengthened.
Representatives from all relevant sectors—law enforcement, health, community groups, women’s organizations, and provincial authorities—are in attendance. Together, they are exploring ways to:
Improve referral pathways for survivors.
Strengthen community awareness and education.
Build stronger partnerships between government, NGOs, and grassroots leaders.
Ensure survivors of GBV, rape, and child abuse receive the right support and protection.
The FSC team believes that collaboration is key in addressing GBV. By bringing everyone to the same table, the workshop ensures that survivors in Taro and across Choiseul Province can access services in a more coordinated, survivor-centered way.
This workshop is a step forward in FSC’s commitment to ensure that no one is left behind in the fight against violence, and that communities in Choiseul Province have access to the support they need.
